Summary

An Act To Amend Section 45-2-1, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Increase The Death Benefit Payable From The Law Enforcement Officers And Fire Fighters Death Benefits Trust Fund For Law Enforcement Officers And Fire Fighters Killed In The Line Of Duty; To Create A Legal Presumption That Certain Health Conditions Resulting In The Death Of A Law Enforcement Officer Or Fire Fighter Occurred In The Line Of Duty; To Amend Section 45-2-21, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Delete The Maximum Number Of Payments That May Be Made From The Law Enforcement Officers And Fire Fighters Disability Benefits Trust Fund To A Law Enforcement Officer Or Fire Fighter Who Suffers A Disability In The Line Of Duty And To Delete The Prohibition Against Payment Of Disability Benefits For Chronic Or Repetitive Injury; To Create A Legal Presumption That Certain Health Conditions Resulting In The Disability Of A Law Enforcement Officer Or Fire Fighter Occurred In The Line Of Duty; And For Related Purposes.
