Summary

An Act To Create The Mississippi Works Dual Enrollment - Dual Credit Option Program For School Dropouts And Potential Dropouts; To Establish The Program On A Pilot Basis In Five School Districts In The 2012-2013 School Year And To Require Statewide Implementation Of The Program Beginning In The 2013-2014 School Year; To Require The Program To Allow A Student To Simultaneously Enroll In The Student's High School And Local Community College In A Dual Credit Program Consisting Of High School Completion Courses And A Work Skills Certificate Program; To Amend Section 37-15-38, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Clarify That The Mississippi Works Dual Enrollment - Dual Credit Option Program Is A Separate Program From The Dual Enrollment System Available To All Public High School Students; To Amend Sections 37-151-5 And 37-151-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide State Funding Under The Mississippi Adequate Education Program To Students Participating In The Mississippi Works Dual Enrollment - Dual Credit Option Program; And For Related Purposes.
