Summary
An Act To Create New Section 25-11-126, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That Persons Who Were Employed In A Position That Required Certification As A Law Enforcement Officer Under The Provisions Of Section 45-6-1, Et Seq. At The Time Of His Or Her Retirement, Were So Certified At The Time Of His Or Her Retirement And Have At Least 15 Years Of Service As A Law Enforcement Officer, May Be Employed By Public School Districts And Choose To Continue Receiving The Retirement Allowance During Their Employment By A Public School District After Retirement In Addition To Receiving The Salary For The Position; To Provide That Those Persons Shall Not Be Contributing Members Of The Retirement System And Shall Not Receive Any Creditable Service For The Period During Which They Receive A Retirement Allowance During Their Employment By A Public School District; To Amend Section 25-11-123, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That The Employers Of Persons Who Choose To Continue Receiving A Retirement Allowance During Their Employment By A Public School District After Retirement Shall Pay To The Retirement System 26.4% Of The Total Earned Compensation Of Those Persons Instead Of The Regular Employer's Contribution Rate; To Amend Sections 25-11-105 And 25-11-127, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Conform To The Preceding Provisions; And For Related Purposes.
