An Act To Provide That A Manufacturer Shall Compensate Its New Motor Vehicle Dealers For All Labor And Parts Required By The Manufacturer To Perform Repairs On Used Motor Vehicles In The Inventory Of The Dealer Required As A Result Of A Notification By A Manufacturer That The Vehicles Cannot Be Sold Or Leased Due To A Federal Safety Recall For A Defect Or A Noncompliance Or Federal Emissions Recall; To Provide For The Amount Of The Compensation And To Provide For Additional Compensation If The Parts Or A Remedy Are Not Reasonably Available To Perform A Recall Service Or Repair On A Used Vehicle Held For Sale By A Dealer Within A Certain Amount Of Time; To Specify The Used Vehicles To Which This Provision Applies; To Prohibit A Manufacturer From Reducing The Amount Of Certain Compensation Otherwise Owed By The Manufacturer Solely Because A New Motor Vehicle Dealer Has Submitted A Claim Under This Section; To Provide For The Payment Of Claims; To Amend Section 63-17-73, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That A Manufacturer, Wholesaler Or Distributor May Not Require A Motor Vehicle Dealer To Construct Or Substantially Alter A Premises Under Certain Circumstances; To Provide That A Dealer May Not Be Required To Purchase Goods Or Services From A Vendor Selected By A Manufacturer, Distributor, Affiliate Or Captive Finance Source When The Dealer May Obtain Goods Or Services Of Substantially Similar Quality And Design From A Vendor Selected By The Dealer; To Provide That A Dealer May Purchase Signs And Other Image Elements From A Vendor Of The Dealer's Choice; And For Related Purposes.
