Summary
An Act To Reenact Sections 47-5-1001 Through 47-5-1014, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Permit A Court To Place An Offender In The Intensive Supervision Program As An Alternative To Incarceration, Establishes Rules And Guidelines For Operation Of The Program And Provides Payment Of Fees By Participants Of The Program; To Amend Section 47-5-1015, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Extend The Date Of Repeal On Those Reenacted Sections From June 30, 2012, To June 30, 2015; To Amend Reenacted Section 47-5-1003, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That Any Time Served By An Offender While On Intensive Supervision Probation Shall Be Credited Toward The Service Of His Or Her Sentence; To Remove The Requirement That The Department Of Corrections Submit A Report By January Of 2010 To The Chairmen Of The Corrections Committees Of The Legislature Regarding The Effectiveness Of The Intensive Supervision Program; And For Related Purposes.
