Summary
An Act To Amend Section 97-3-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Revise The Offense Of Assault As Constituting Domestic Violence And To Include Strangulation Within The Offense; To Amend Section 99-3-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Include Children Of The Parties As Possible Victims Of Domestic Violence; To Amend Section 99-5-37, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide For A 24-hour Cooling-off Period; To Amend Section 47-7-3, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require A Minimum One-year Sentence Before A Person Convicted Of Aggravated Domestic Violence Is Eligible For Parole; And For Related Purposes.
