Summary
An Act To Authorize Owners Of Homesteads To Establish Catastrophe Savings Accounts And To Utilize Money In Such Accounts To Provide Reimbursement For Deductible Amounts And Other Uninsured Portions Of Damage To Homesteads From Certain Events; To Authorize An Income Tax Deduction For Amounts Contributed To Catastrophe Savings Accounts; To Exclude Interest On Such Accounts From Gross Income For Income Tax Purposes; To Provide Limits On The Amount That May Be Contributed To Catastrophe Savings Accounts; To Provide That A Distribution From A Catastrophe Savings Account Must Be Included In The Income Of The Taxpayer Unless The Distribution Is Used To Cover Qualified Catastrophe Expenses; To Provide That The Income Tax Shall Be Increased On Taxable Distributions From A Catastrophe Savings Account; To Amend Sections 27-7-15 And 27-7-17, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity Thereto; And For Related Purposes.
