AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF HOLMES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO DESIGNATE THE WEST HILL COMMUNITY IN THE COUNTY AS "THE MUNICIPAL HISTORICAL HAMLET OF WEST HILL" WITHOUT DEMONSTRATING THE EXISTENCE OF A WRITTEN CHARTER FOR THE FORMER MUNICIPALITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 17-27-1, et seq., Mississippi Code of 1972, or any other provision of law to the contrary, the Board of Supervisors of Holmes County, Mississippi, is authorized to designate the West Hill Community in the county as "The Municipal Historical Hamlet of West Hill" without demonstrating the existence of a written charter for the former municipality after diligent inquiry and search for such charter. 

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
