House Bill 1612
AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 937, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 2017, TO INCREASE FROM FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS TO TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS THE AMOUNT THAT THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF VICKSBURG, MISSISSIPPI, IS AUTHORIZED TO CONTRIBUTE ANNUALLY TO THE READ BY THIRD GRADE, A TUTORIAL PROGRAM FOR AT-RISK STUDENTS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Chapter 937, Local and Private Laws of 2017, is amended as follows:
Section 1. (1) The
governing authorities of the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi, in their
discretion, may contribute annually not more than * * * Ten
Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), out of any available funds of the city, to
the Read by Third Grade, a Tutorial Program for At-Risk Students.
(2) This section shall be repealed from and after July 1, 2021.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
