House Bill 1688

AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO KENNETH KING OF NOXUBEE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Kenneth King of Noxubee County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his conviction of False Pretense in Lowndes County, Mississippi, in 1992, to serve three (3) years probation, which was revoked on the charge of False Pretense on May 24, 1995, in Lowndes County.  He was also sentenced for Burglary of a Vehicle on November 12, 2004, in Lowndes County, and sentenced for Embezzlement in Lowndes County, in 2003.  He was discharged on November 20, 2009, in Lowndes County, upon completion of the penalty and any conditions imposed upon him for such conviction.  The Legislature has been reliably informed that he is now conducting himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
