House Bill 331

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE USE OF GOLF CARTS OR CLUB CARS TO ACCESS HUNTING AREAS IN PUBLIC WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREAS UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS; TO REQUIRE THE COMMISSION ON WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS TO PROMULGATE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF SUCH VEHICLES IN WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREAS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks shall authorize the use of golf carts or club cars to access hunting areas in public wildlife management areas under its jurisdiction.

     (2)  The commission shall promulgate rules and regulations for reasonable access, stipulating the specification of the size, type and torque-power of golf carts or club cars used in wildlife management areas and the season during which such vehicles may be used.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2014.
