House Bill 787
AN ACT TO PROHIBIT VEHICLE SEARCHES OF MOTOR VEHICLES WITHOUT ACTUAL PHYSICAL OR VISUAL EVIDENCE OF A VIOLATION OF STATE LAW; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. No law enforcement officer is authorized to search a motor vehicle unless the law enforcement officer has actual physical or visual evidence articulating probable cause of a violation of state law. The results of any search conducted in violation of this section shall not be admissible in any court of law in this state.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2012.
