A RESOLUTION WELCOMING FLORIDIANS DR. ALVIN G. AND MRS. BRENDA WHITE, MR. RAY AND MRS. GAIL BRINSON AND MR. KEN AND MRS. ROBERTA MANUEL TO THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI UPON THEIR FIRST VISIT TO THE STATE TO PARTAKE OF ITS NATURAL BEAUTY AND SPLENDOR AND EXPERIENCE ITS LIMITLESS AMENITIES PROVIDED THROUGH HISTORY, CULTURE AND ENTERTAINMENT, DURING THE WEEKEND OF JANUARY 14-18, 2010.

     WHEREAS, on Thursday, January 14, 2010, the great State of Mississippi will once again extend her warm arms of hospitality, this time welcoming several native Floridians, who are residents of Jacksonville, Florida, upon their first visit to the state to partake of its natural beauty and splendor and experience its limitless amenities provided through history, culture and entertainment, during the weekend of January 14-18, 2010; and

     WHEREAS, after hearing of the vast troves of treasure offered throughout the entire state, these individuals set their destination on the sites and sounds afforded them upon the serene sandy shores and encapsulating coastal outlets of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and will reside in the seasonal second home of fellow Floridians, turned honorary Mississippi residents, Willard and Pam Payne in Gautier, Mississippi; and 

     WHEREAS, Dr. Alvin G. White, former Superintendent of Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville, Florida, will be accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Brenda White, a retired guidance counselor; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Ray Brinson, a retired executive for Prudential Insurance Company, will be accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Gail Brinson, a retired principal of Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville, Florida; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Ken Manuel, former Assistant Superintendent of Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville, Florida, will be accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Roberta Manuel, a retired music instructor of Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville, Florida; and

     WHEREAS, the Paynes, who are former owners/proprietors of a Florida McDonald's establishment, have since become consultants of Northern Florida Recruiting and Consulting Services, Inc., engaging in partnership with airport parking at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport in Gulfport, Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, the citizens of the State of Mississippi are committed to providing exceptional quality and customer services to the many tourists who visit our state in order to impart a lasting impression, evoking a sense of hominess and grandeur that encourages future visits; and

     WHEREAS, it is with sincere and humble appreciation that the House of Representatives acknowledges visitors to the State of Mississippi, who have chosen to come and experience Mississippi firsthand:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby welcome Floridians Dr. Alvin G. and Mrs. Brenda White, Mr. Ray and Mrs. Gail Brinson and Mr. Ken and Mrs. Roberta Manuel to the State of Mississippi upon their first visit to the state to partake of its natural beauty and splendor and experience its limitless amenities provided through history, culture and entertainment, during the weekend of January 14-18, 2010, and extend our greatest wish for a safe and enjoyable visit.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Dr. and Mrs. White, Mr. and Mrs. Brinson, Mr. and Mrs. Manuel, Mr. and Mrs. Payne and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
