House Resolution 68
A RESOLUTION HONORING THE WELL-LIVED LIFE OF UNITED STATES MARINE CHASE MARK BLAYLOCK AND EXPRESSING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HIS PASSING.
WHEREAS, "To everything there is a season, and time to every purposes under the heaven," and as such, beloved son and grandson, Chase Mark Blaylock, has made life's final transition to heavenly reward; and
WHEREAS, he was born on December 20, 1993, in Price, Utah, and moved to Copiah County, Mississippi, in 1996, where he attended and graduated from Wesson High School; and
WHEREAS, Chase was a popular student at Wesson High School, and well known as an easy, agreeable young man, with a happy disposition and great sense of humor; and
WHEREAS, he was a young man of God, who was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a testimony of Jesus Christ that he was willing to share with those he met; and
WHEREAS, in October 2012, Chase made the brave and bold move to join the United States Marine Corp, and thereafter, graduated from Marine Boot Camp on May 31, 2013, from Marine Combat Training on July 9, 2013, and Basic Engineer Course on October 9, 2013; and
WHEREAS, on October 14, 2013, the lives of Chase Blaylock's family and friends changed forever, when he tragically lost his life in a car accident, while he was home visiting before being stationed in Okinawa, Japan; and
WHEREAS, Chase was a prankster with an indelible smile who understood the meaning of the word, "pals", whose good-natured mischief endeared him to his fellow Marines, and whose friendship and loyalty was evidenced by the many young Marines from around the country who had served with him; and
WHEREAS, to cherish his memory, he is survived by his loving parents, Tommy and Aimee Blaylock; his brothers, Dillon, Ethan and Brentyn; his paternal grandparents, Travis Blaylock and Kathleen and Earl Haley; his maternal grandparents, Mark and Nancy Clair; his paternal great-grandfather, Hicks Blaylock; his maternal great-grandmother, Mary Peterson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and
WHEREAS, Chase loved his family, was an awesome big brother, had an infectious smile, always made other people happy, loved sports and the outdoors, and never met a stranger; and
WHEREAS, it is our policy to honor and show pride for the life of a young man, such as Chase, who committed dedicated and honorable service to his country and strong commitment to his family, his friends and his faith:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby honor the life of United States Marine Chase Mark Blaylock, who taking the number of years allotted to him by his Creator, lived each day to its fullest and left behind countless loved ones who will never forget him and express deepest sympathy to his family and friends upon his passing.
BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the family of Chase Mark Blaylock and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
