AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ADAMS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CREATE OR JOIN A COUNTY RAILROAD AUTHORITY OR REGIONAL RAILROAD AUTHORITY; TO PROVIDE THAT THE PROVISIONS OF THE RAILROAD AUTHORITIES LAW BE APPLICABLE TO SUCH COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 19-29-3, 19-29-47 and 59-7-453, Mississippi Code of 1972, or any other law to the contrary, the Board of Supervisors of Adams County, Mississippi, is authorized, in its discretion, to create a county railroad authority or create or join a regional railroad authority, and the county shall have all the powers and duties prescribed in Chapter 29, Title 19, Mississippi Code of 1972, which pertain to the Railroad Authorities Law.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
