Senate Resolution 114
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MISS MISSISSIPPI TEEN USA 2024 ADDIE CARVER OF BROOKHAVEN, MISSISSIPPI.
WHEREAS, we join the citizens of Brookhaven and the citizens of Mississippi in recognizing Miss Mississippi USA 2024 Addie Carver, a 17-year old native of Brookhaven, Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2024 is Addie Carver, a 17-year-old native of Brookhaven, Mississippi. She is a junior at Lawrence County High School where she is ranked in the top 10 of her class; and
WHEREAS, Addie has trained in multiple styles of dance at Showstoppers Studio of Dance in Brookhaven for 14 years where she now serves as a student teacher, working with students ages three through 16. Her love for dance sparked her passion to create her own nonprofit organization, Dance to Empower. After losing her dad to lung cancer at the age of 13, dance was instrumental in helping her get through this tragic loss. She hopes to inspire others to find their passions to help them cope with life's challenges. Addie is excited and committed to growing her organization while impacting the life of others; and
WHEREAS, outside of dance, Addie is a varsity cheerleader, Vice President of the Beta Club, member of HOSA, National Technical Honor Society and Student Council; and
WHEREAS, in her spare time, Addie enjoys modeling, spending time with family and friends and traveling. Addie also loves giving back to her community and can often be found participating in various service projects; and
WHEREAS, Addie is honored to be representing the great State of Mississippi at Miss Teen USA; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize a young Mississippi citizen who is a wonderful role model and brings honor to her school, her community and to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2024 Addie Carver of Brookhaven, Mississippi, and extend the best wishes of the Senate to Addie for future success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2024 and her family.
