A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to increase judicial Salary and benefits for the 2017‑2018 fiscal year.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. Effective July 1, 2017, the annual salaries, payable monthly, for specified judicial branch officials for the 2017‑2018 fiscal year are increased by twenty percent (20%), as follows:

Associate Justice, Supreme Court 175,429
Chief Judge, Court of Appeals 172,654
Judge, Court of Appeals 168,173
Judge, Senior Regular Resident Superior Court 163,637

Chief Judge, District Court 144,588
Judge, District Court 140,052
SECTION 2. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Administrative Office of the Courts the sum of nineteen million seven hundred sixty thousand dollars ($19,760,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2017‑2018 fiscal year to increase salary and benefits for all judges and justices and to increase the annual contribution into the Consolidated Judicial Retirement System.
SECTION 3. This act becomes effective July 1, 2017, for the 2017‑2018 fiscal year.
