STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen
AN ACT relative to the qualifications of jurors.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Juror Qualification Form. Amend RSA 500-A:6, III(b)(1) to read as follows:
(1) A citizen of [the United States] New Hampshire and a resident of the county;
2 New Subparagraph; Juror Qualification Form. Amend RSA 500-A:6, III(b) by inserting after subparagraph (4) the following new subparagraph:
(5) Knowledgeable of the content of the New Hampshire constitution.
3 Qualifications of Jurors. Amend RSA 500-A:7-a, II to read as follows:
II. A juror shall be a citizen of [the United States] New Hampshire and a resident of the county of jury service.
4 New Paragraph; Qualifications of Jurors. Amend RSA 500-A:7-a by inserting after paragraph V the following new paragraph:
VI. A juror shall have read the New Hampshire constitution.
5 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2017.
