STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Fifteen

AN ACT relative to seasons for hunting by crossbow.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Fish and Game; Executive Director; Establishing Seasons; Crossbow. Amend RSA 206:10 by inserting after paragraph I the following new paragraph:

I-a. The rules adopted by the executive director under paragraph I for establishing seasons for hunting shall allow for the taking of game animals and game birds by crossbow during the regular firearms season for each such game animal or game bird. Such rules may include, but not be limited to, conditions or limitations as to the portions of the state crossbows may be used, the manner and method of taking with a crossbow, mandatory education requirements for the use of a crossbow, and any additional licensing requirements and associated fees. A person holding a tag or permit for taking by crossbow may not also use a firearms tag or permit in the same season of each such animal or game bird. Such rules shall also specifically provide for separate seasons for taking by bow and arrow and muzzleloader, when permitted, which do not coincide with crossbow and firearms seasons.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
