AN ACT relative to enforcement of election laws.

This bill authorizes the secretary of state to conduct investigations to determine whether election laws have been violated and to institute enforcement proceedings and impose penalties.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seventeen
AN ACT relative to enforcement of election laws.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Enforcement of Election Laws. Amend RSA 5 by inserting after section 6-d the following new section:
5:6-e Enforcement of Election Laws. Upon receipt of a signed written complaint, or upon his or her own motion, the secretary of state, in his or her discretion and with the same power and authority outlined in RSA 5-B:4-a, may conduct investigations to determine whether any violation of RSA 652 through RSA 664 or RSA 666 has occurred and to institute enforcement proceedings and impose penalties relative to any violations found.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
