a. the owner or operator of the brewery elects to allow dogs to be present in the area of the licensed premises designated for the consumption of brewed products;

STATEMENT
This bill allows dogs in
certain areas of licensed microbreweries

or related articles in the area designated for the consumption of brewed
products. The designated area will be required to be maintained in a clean
condition, and any surfaces contaminated by dog excrement or bodily fluids are
to be promptly cleansed and sanitized. Staff members will not be allowed to
have any direct contact with dogs while the staff members are on duty, and will
be required to promptly wash their hands following any direct contact with a
dog. Dogs will be required to be on a leash or in a carrier and under the
owner's control at all times, and any food or water provided to dogs will be
required to be in a single-use, disposable container.
