SYNOPSIS

     Concerns sale of certain motor fuel during certain emergencies.

An Act concerning the sale of motor fuel during certain emergencies and supplementing P.L.1938, c.163 (C.56:6-1 et seq.).

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    Notwithstanding the provisions of section 201 of P.L.1938, c.163 (C.56:6-2) or any other law, rule 1,1 or regulation to the contrary, during 1[the existence of]1 a state of energy emergency, as declared by the Governor pursuant to section 15 of P.L.1977, c.146 (C.52:27F-17), when a retail dealer exhausts 1[his] the dealer's1 supply of the lowest grade motor fuel, that dealer may sell any remaining supply of higher 1[octane] grade1 motor fuel at the same price per gallon or liter as the price the dealer charged for a gallon or liter of the lowest grade motor fuel.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.
