SYNOPSIS
Requires telephone number to report reckless or aggressive driving be displayed on school buses.

An Act concerning school buses and supplementing Title 39 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. Every school bus, as defined in R.S.39:1-1, in operation on the effective date of this act and every new or used school bus purchased on or after that date shall have a telephone number for any person to report to the appropriate law enforcement entity reckless or aggressive driving committed by the school bus driver conspicuously displayed on the rear of the vehicle or on a decal or plate affixed to the rear of the vehicle.
2. The Chief Administrator of the Motor Vehicle Commission in conjunction with the Superintendent of the State Police shall adopt rules and regulations pursuant to the "Administrative Procedure Act," P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.), necessary to effectuate the purposes of this act, including, but not limited to, the development of a system for responding to reports of reckless or aggressive driving.
3. This act shall take effect on the first day of the sixth month following enactment.
STATEMENT
This bill requires every school bus to have a telephone number for any person to report reckless or aggressive driving displayed on the vehicle.
Specifically, under the provisions of this bill, every school bus in operation on the effective date of the act and every new or used school bus purchased on or after that date is required to have a telephone number for any person to report reckless or aggressive driving committed by the school bus driver conspicuously displayed on the rear of the vehicle.
In addition, the bill requires the Chief Administrator of the Motor Vehicle Commission in conjunction with the Superintendant of the State Police to adopt rules and regulations, including but not limited to, the development of a system for responding to reports of reckless or aggressive driving.
