SYNOPSIS
Requires NJT to pay support staff and subcontractors one-and-a-half times regular rate for work done during state of emergency.

An Act concerning compensation for certain work done for the New Jersey Transit Corporation during a declared state of emergency and supplementing Title 27 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. For each hour of time worked during a state of emergency declared by the Governor, the New Jersey Transit Corporation shall ensure that each member of the corporation's support staff and each individual that works for a subcontractor of the corporation, including paratransit drivers and attendants, is paid wages at a rate of not less than 150 percent of the employee's or individual's regular hourly wage.
For purposes of this section, "support staff" includes, but is not limited to, mechanics, technical support staff, and any employee covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill requires the New Jersey Transit Corporation to ensure that support staff and subcontractors are paid "time-and-a-half" for work performed during a state of emergency declared by the Governor.
