Summary

This legislation would require each county to establish a Community Justice Council as a condition of eligibility for state funding in support of public safety services. Such councils will develop and submit comprehensive Community Justice Plans setting forth goals and priorities for the whole county. The Division of Criminal Justice Services would consult such plans in evaluating proposed state funding to counties and their municipalities to ensure that and state funding advances the goals and priorities articulated in such plans.
