Summary

Sets forth the procedure by which the Commissioner of Education can designate the official state book for a period of one year. Every year prior to May 1st, every school district in the state shall submit to the Commissioner its choice for the state book, with such selection being made according to standards determined by the Commissioner. From these selections, the Commissioner selects one book for a period of no longer than one year commencing on June 1st. During the first year following the effective date, the book "Robert's Tall Friend" authored by Vivian Farrell shall be designated the state book.
