Summary
To protect victims of domestic violence by: (i) expanding the definition of "members of the same family or household"; (ii) increasing punishment for domestic assaults committed against a family or household member; and (iii) requiring the court, when determining application for bailor recognizance, to consider a defendant's history of violence, record of any prior orders of protection, and disobedience of an order, mandate or process of any court.
Title
Establishes the crimes of domestic assault in the second degree which shall be a class A misdemeanor and domestic assault in the first degree which shall be a class E felony; relates to the definition of "members of the same family or household".
