Summary

This bill provides that for all members of the New York State Teachers' Retirement System and the New York City Teachers' Retirement System, for determining eligibility for a deferred vested benefit only, a year of service shall be defined as a minimum of 20 days of credited service rendered during a school year. Such definition of a year of service shall not be used in the calcu- lation of retirement benefits but only for the purposes of vesting eligibility.
