STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 215 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY (Prefiled) January 4, 2017 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. LUPARDO -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend the real property law, in relation to home inspection professional licensing The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Paragraph (c) of subdivision 1 of section 444-e of the real 2 property law, as amended by section 59 of part D of chapter 60 of the 3 laws of 2012, is amended to read as follows: 4 (c) have passed [a written or electronic] the National Home Inspector 5 examination [approved by the secretary, and designed to test competence6in home inspection practice as determined by a recognized role defi-7nition methodology and developed and administered to the extent practi-8cable in a manner consistent with the American Educational Research9Association's "Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing." An10applicant who has passed an existing nationally recognized examination,11as approved by the secretary, prior to the effective date of this arti-12cle shall be in compliance with this paragraph]; and 13 § 2.
