STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 3131 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY February 2, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. MAGNARELLI -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the transportation law, in relation to the creation of a toll-free hotline and a website where motorists can report potholes The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 14 of the transportation law is amended by adding a 2 new subdivision 37 to read as follows: 3 37. The commissioner shall establish a toll-free twenty-four hour 4 hotline and interactive website by which persons may report the 5 locations of potholes on the state highway system including the thruway 6 and receive, at such person's request, notification when repairs to the 7 reported pothole have been completed. The commissioner shall also post 8 the locations of each reported pothole on such interactive website until 9 such time as such pothole is repaired. 10 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of April next succeeding 11 the date on which it shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the 12 addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary 13 for the implementation of this act on its effective date are authorized 14 to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
