STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 4415 2021-2022 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY February 4, 2021 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. ABINANTI, WALLACE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the transportation law, in relation to the creation of a toll-free hotline and a website where motorists can report potholes The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 14 of the transportation law is amended by adding a 2 new subdivision 36 to read as follows: 3 36. The commissioner shall establish a toll-free twenty-four hour 4 hotline and interactive website by which persons may report the 5 locations of potholes on the state highway system including the thruway 6 and receive, at such person's request, notification when repairs to the 7 reported pothole have been completed. The commissioner shall also post 8 the locations of each reported pothole on such interactive website until 9 such time as such pothole is repaired. 10 § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after 11 it shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amend- 12 ment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implemen- 13 tation of this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and 14 completed on or before such effective date.
