       AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in  relation  to  requiring
         tractors  propelling trailers or semitrailers to be driven exclusively
         in the right lane of traffic
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Section 1128 of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by
    2  adding a new subdivision (e) to read as follows:
    3    (E) EXCEPT WHEN OVERTAKING AND PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE LEFT, OR
    4  EXITING ON THE LEFT, A TRACTOR PROPELLING A TRAILER OR SEMITRAILER SHALL
    5  BE DRIVEN EXCLUSIVELY IN THE RIGHT LANE OF TRAFFIC.
    6    S 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
    7  have become a law.
