         Committee on Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development
       AN ACT to amend chapter 371 of the laws of  1997,  amending  the  parks,
         recreation  and historic preservation law relating to establishing the
         Mohawk Valley heritage  corridor  commission  and  providing  for  the
         membership  and  powers and duties thereof, in relation to the expira-
         tion thereof
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. Section 4 of chapter 371 of the laws of 1997, amending the
    2  parks, recreation and historic preservation law relating to establishing
    3  the Mohawk Valley heritage corridor commission  and  providing  for  the
    4  membership  and  powers and duties thereof, as amended by chapter 218 of
    5  the laws of 2007, is amended to read as follows:
    6    S 4. This act shall take  effect  on  the  first  day  of  April  next
    7  succeeding the date on which it shall have become a law, provided howev-
    8  er that prior to such effective date the Mohawk Valley heritage corridor
    9  planning commission created pursuant to section 13 of chapter 666 of the
   10  laws  of  1994  shall continue and shall be deemed to have the necessary
   11  and appropriate authority, consistent with section one of this  act,  to
   12  implement the Mohawk Valley heritage corridor management plan, if it has
   13  been  approved  by  the  commissioner  of parks, recreation and historic
   14  preservation, until the organization meeting of the Mohawk Valley herit-
   15  age corridor commission, created by  this  act,  is  held  and  provided
   16  further  that effective immediately the appropriate authorities may take
   17  actions necessary to make appointments to  the  Mohawk  Valley  heritage
   18  corridor  commission  before  the  effective  date of this act; provided
   19  further that article 37 of title G of the parks, recreation and historic
   20  preservation law as added by section one of this act shall expire  April
   21  1,  [2013] 2023 when upon such date the provisions of such article shall

    1  be deemed repealed; and provided further, section two of this act  shall
    2  take effect June 17, 1997.
    3    S  2.  Notwithstanding  the  provisions  of  article  5 of the general
    4  construction law, the provisions of article 37 of the parks,  recreation
    5  and  historic  preservation law, as repealed by section 4 of chapter 371
    6  of the laws of 1997, are hereby revived and shall continue in full force
    7  and effect as such provisions existed on March 31, 2013.
    8    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately and  shall  be  deemed  to
    9  have been in full force and effect on and after April 1, 2013.
