       AN ACT to amend the education law,  in  relation  to  the  formation  of
         central school districts in the county of Jefferson
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The education law is amended by adding a new  section  1810
    2  to read as follows:
    3    S 1810. FORMATION OF CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN THE COUNTY OF JEFFER-
    4  SON.  A  CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT MAY BE FORMED BY THE COMBINATION OF TWO
    5  OR MORE CENTRAL, UNION FREE OR COMMON SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN THE COUNTY  OF
    6  JEFFERSON. THE TERRITORY NEED NOT BE CONTIGUOUS.
    7    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
