        AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to notification  require-
          ments when a college plans to dissolve any athletic team
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Section 355 of the education law is amended by adding a new
     2  subdivision 20 to read as follows:
     3    20. The state university trustees shall direct each college  president
     4  to create a protocol requiring proper written notice to student athletes
     5  by  September  thirtieth  of the prior academic year if any such college
     6  plans to dissolve any athletic team in the upcoming academic year.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
