          Committee on Children and Families

        AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation  to  certain  calls
          received by child protective services

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Section 424 of the social services law is amended by adding
     2  a new subdivision 7-b to read as follows:
     3    7-b. In the event  child  protective  services  receives  a  duplicate
     4  report on an open case, such duplicate report shall result in the exist-
     5  ing case remaining open an additional thirty days for increased monitor-
     6  ing and child protective service visits.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
