Bill Title: Provides that in the event child protective services receives a duplicate report on an open case that has not been founded, indicated or referred to services, such duplicate report shall merge with the open case and remain open an additional thirty days for further investigation.

STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 7738 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY June 6, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. JEAN-PIERRE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Children and Families AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to certain calls received by child protective services The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 424 of the social services law is amended by adding 2 a new subdivision 7-b to read as follows: 3 7-b. In the event child protective services receives a duplicate 4 report on an open case, such duplicate report shall result in the exist- 5 ing case remaining open an additional thirty days for increased monitor- 6 ing and child protective service visits. 7 § 2.
