STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 9937 IN ASSEMBLY February 27, 2020 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. WOERNER -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to amend the public officers law, in relation to qualifications for holding certain offices in the village of South Glens Falls The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 3 of the public officers law is amended by adding a 2 new subdivision 70 to read as follows: 3 70. In the village of South Glens Falls, in the county of Saratoga, 4 the provisions of this section requiring a person to be a resident of 5 the political subdivision or municipal corporation of the state for 6 which he or she shall be chosen or within which his or her official 7 functions are required to be exercised, shall not prevent a person from 8 holding the office of clerk-treasurer, deputy clerk, deputy treasurer or 9 building inspector, provided that such person resides in Saratoga county 10 or an adjoining county; provided, however that any person performing 11 such functions or holding such office in any other village shall be a 12 resident of such village unless otherwise provided by law. 13 § 2.
