Assembly Resolution No. 2294 BY: M. of A. Solages CELEBRATING the accomplishments of the Franklin Square Union Free School District music program WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor and pay just tribute to those organizations whose commitment and dedication contribute to neighborhood empowerment, community enrichment and the entire State of New York; and WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved this day to honor the Franklin Square Union Free School District in celebration of their commitment to furthering music education for their students; and WHEREAS, New York State commends the Franklin Square Union Free School District and celebrates the esteemed commitment and hard work of its music educators, and thanks them for their leadership and direction, which has been critical in impacting, enriching, and empowering the State of New York; and WHEREAS, Music education is an integral part of the overall educational experience, promoting creativity, strengthening collaborative skills, and improving cognitive development; and WHEREAS, Franklin Square Union Free School District has been named to the list of "Best Communities for Music Education" by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation, a distinction which demonstrates a sustained commitment to the advancement of music education; and WHEREAS, For 25 years, the NAMM Foundation has awarded its national Best Communities for Music Education award to schools across 43 states for unwavering commitment to music education as an integral part of a well-rounded education for all students; and WHEREAS, The dedication of music educators in the Franklin Square School District has lifted the music program to the highest caliber in the country, making it a point of pride for the entire Franklin Square community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to celebrate the accomplishments of the Franklin Square Union Free School District music program; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to the Franklin Square Union Free School District.
