       AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to approval of  contracts
         with superintendents of schools
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1.  Section 1711 of the education law is amended by  adding  a
    2  new subdivision 3-a to read as follows:
    3    3-A. ANY CONTRACT, AMENDMENT THERETO, CONTRACT EXTENSION, OR AGREEMENT
    4  OF  ANY  KIND WITH A SUPERINTENDENT FOR SALARY, COMPENSATION OR BENEFITS
    5  ENTERED INTO DURING  THE  PERIOD  BETWEEN  THE  ANNUAL  MEETING  OF  THE
    6  DISTRICT  AND THE SUBSEQUENT ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING SHALL BE APPROVED BY
    7  A TWO-THIRDS MAJORITY OF SUCH BOARD.
    8    S 2. Section 2507 of the education law is  amended  by  adding  a  new
    9  subdivision 1-a to read as follows:

   15    S 3. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
   16  have become a law.
