         and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Education
       AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to notice of  the  termi-
         nation of special therapy services by school districts
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The education law is amended by adding a new  section  3037
    2  to read as follows:
    3    S  3037.  SPECIAL  THERAPY SERVICES; NOTICE OF TERMINATION. THE SUPER-
    4  INTENDENT OF A SCHOOL DISTRICT WHICH PROVIDES PHYSICAL THERAPY,  OCCUPA-
    5  TIONAL  THERAPY,  OR  ANY OTHER SPECIAL THERAPY SERVICES TO ANY STUDENTS
    6  WITH SPECIAL NEEDS SHALL, NOT LESS THAN SIXTY DAYS PRIOR TO  THE  TERMI-
    7  NATION OF ANY SUCH SERVICES:
    8    1.  NOTIFY,  IN WRITING, THE PARENTS OR LEGAL GUARDIAN OF EACH STUDENT
    9  RECEIVING SUCH SERVICES THAT SUCH SERVICES WILL BE TERMINATED; AND
   10    2. PLACE ON THE INTERNET WEBSITE FOR SUCH SCHOOL  DISTRICT,  A  NOTICE
   11  THAT SUCH SERVICES WILL BE TERMINATED.
   12    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
