       AN ACT to amend  the  general  municipal  law,  in  relation  to  school
         district approval of subdivisions
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The general municipal  law  is  amended  by  adding  a  new
    2  section 99-v to read as follows:
    3    S  99-V.  SCHOOL  DISTRICT APPROVAL OF SUBDIVISION.  A GOVERNING BOARD
    4  MAY, BY RESOLUTION, AUTHORIZE AND EMPOWER THE PLANNING BOARD TO  REQUIRE
    5  THE  OWNER OF A PARCEL PROPOSED FOR SUBDIVISION TO APPLY FOR AND RECEIVE
    6  NOTIFICATION FROM A SCHOOL DISTRICT AS TO WHETHER SUCH PARCEL IS LOCATED
    7  WITHIN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT'S BOUNDARIES.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
    9  have become a law.
