       AN ACT to amend chapter 397 of the laws of 1996, relating to authorizing
         the town of Islip to lease certain lands to a business corporation, in
         relation to the lease term
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision (a) of section 1 of chapter 397 of the laws  of
    2  1996,  relating  to authorizing the town of Islip to lease certain lands
    3  to a business corporation, is amended to read as follows:
    4    (a) [Notwithstanding the provisions of any other general,  special  or
    5  local law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the town of Islip, in the
    6  county of Suffolk, is hereby authorized and empowered to lease the lands
    7  hereinafter  described for up to thirty years, to a business corporation
    8  for such consideration for fair market value and upon such terms, condi-

    1  tions and provisions as the town board in its discretion may deem  prop-
    2  er.]  THE  TOWN OF ISLIP, IN THE COUNTY OF SUFFOLK, IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED
    3  AND EMPOWERED TO EXTEND THE TERMS OF A LEASE  BETWEEN  THE  TOWN  AND  A
    4  BUSINESS  CORPORATION DATED JULY 30, 1996 THAT WAS AUTHORIZED BY CHAPTER
    5  397 OF THE LAWS OF 1996 ON THE LANDS DESCRIBED IN  CHAPTER  397  OF  THE
    6  LAWS OF 1996 FOR UP TO TEN ADDITIONAL YEARS FROM THE DATE OF ITS EXPIRA-
    7  TION.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
