       AN ACT to amend chapter 397 of the laws of 1996, relating to authorizing
         the town of Islip to lease certain lands to a business corporation, in
         relation to the lease term
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision (a) of section 1 of chapter 397 of the laws  of
    2  1996,  relating  to authorizing the town of Islip to lease certain lands
    3  to a business corporation, is amended to read as follows:
    4    (a) Notwithstanding the provisions of any other  general,  special  or
    5  local law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the town of Islip, in the
    6  county of Suffolk, is hereby authorized and empowered to lease the lands
    7  hereinafter  described  for  up  to  [thirty] FORTY years, to a business
    8  corporation for such consideration for fair market value and  upon  such
    9  terms, conditions and provisions as the town board in its discretion may
   10  deem proper.
   11    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
