       Introduced  by Sen. NOZZOLIO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Education
       AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to preventing  boards  of
         cooperative educational services from providing certain services
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section  1950  of  the  education  law  is
    2  amended by adding a new paragraph oo to read as follows:
    3    OO. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW, A BOARD OF COOPERATIVE
    4  EDUCATIONAL   SERVICES   SHALL  BE  PROHIBITED  FROM  BIDDING,  QUOTING,
    5  CONTRACTING  OR  OTHERWISE  PROVIDING  PRODUCTS  OR  SERVICES  TO  THIRD
    6  PARTIES,  INCLUDING  BUT NOT LIMITED TO SCHOOL DISTRICTS, FOR COMMERCIAL
    7  PRINTING SERVICES OR DIRECT MAIL PRINTING SERVICES.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
