STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 5595 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN SENATE March 8, 2023 ___________ Introduced by Sens. COMRIE, MAYER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Energy and Telecommu- nications AN ACT to amend the public service law, in relation to requiring gas corporations and electric corporations in this state to file quarterly reports with the legislature regarding infrastructure upgrades The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The public service law is amended by adding a new section 2 73-b to read as follows: 3 § 73-b. Infrastructure upgrades; quarterly reports to legislature. 1. 4 On or before October first, two thousand twenty-three and on or before 5 every January first, April first, July first and October first thereaft- 6 er, every gas corporation and electric corporation in this state shall 7 file a report with the legislature setting forth: 8 (a) the scope and nature of all upgrades to the infrastructure of such 9 corporation completed during the previous quarterly period; 10 (b) the status of any ongoing upgrades to the infrastructure of such 11 corporation and the scope and nature of such upgrade; and 12 (c) the status regarding the planning and development of any future 13 upgrades to the infrastructure of such corporation and the scope and 14 nature of such upgrade. 15 2. Such report shall set forth in detail infrastructure upgrades with 16 respect to infrastructure hardening, storm resilience and climate 17 change. 18 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
