DeFRANCISCO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to the reci- procity between this state and other states of the participation of recreational vehicle dealers in recreational vehicle shows and exhib- its THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Section 419 of the vehicle and traffic law, as added by 2 chapter 326 of the laws of 1997, is amended to read as follows: 3 S 419. Recreational vehicle shows or exhibits. Notwithstanding any 4 other provision of this article to the contrary, a recreational vehicle 5 dealer licensed to do business as such in another state or jurisdiction 6 may participate in a vehicle show or exhibit which has, when it opens to 7 the public, at least a total of fifty dealers from both this state and 8 outside this state manning recreational vehicle manufacturer displays if 9 the show or exhibit is trade-oriented and is predominantly funded by 10 recreational vehicle manufacturers. All of the participating dealers who 11 are not licensed by this state must be from a state [contiguous to this 12 state] which permits recreational vehicle dealers licensed as such in 13 this state to participate in like shows or exhibits in that state under 14 conditions substantially equivalent to the conditions which are imposed 15 upon dealers from that state who participate in recreational vehicle 16 shows or exhibits in this state and are duly licensed and authorized by 17 their state of residence to sell recreational vehicles. Except as 18 otherwise provided, nothing herein shall be deemed to waive or alter any 19 other provision of law, rule or regulation. For the purpose of this 20 section, the term "recreational vehicle" shall have the same meaning as 21 "house coach" as such term is defined in section one hundred nineteen of 22 this chapter. 23 S 2.
