        Introduced  by  Sen. RITCHIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern-
          ment Operations
        AN ACT to amend the public officers law, in relation  to  authorizing  a
          person holding the office of assistant district attorney in the county
          of Oswego to reside in an adjoining county within the state
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Section 3 of the public officers law is amended by adding a
     2  new subdivision 67 to read as follows:
     3    67. In the county of Oswego, the provisions of this  section,  or  any
     4  other provision of law, requiring a person to be a resident of the poli-
     5  tical  subdivision or municipal corporation of the state for which he or
     6  she shall be chosen or within which his or her  official  functions  are
     7  required  to  be  exercised, shall not prevent a person from holding the
     8  office of assistant district attorney of the  county  of  Oswego,  other
     9  than  the  first  assistant district attorney, provided that such person
    10  resides in Oswego county or in an adjoining county within the  state  of
    11  New York.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
