A BILL

To enact section 3345.86 of the Revised Code to

prohibit state institutions of higher education

2

from requiring students to be covered by a health

3

insurance policy or a health care benefits plan as

4

a condition of enrollment or from automatically

5

enrolling students in such policies or plans.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1.  That section 3345.86 of the Revised Code be	7
enacted to read as follows:	8

Sec. 3345.86.  The board of trustees or managing authority of	9
a state institution of higher education, as defined in section	10
3345.011 of the Revised Code, shall not do either of the following	11
on or after the effective date of this section:	12

(A) Require any student that enrolls in the institution to be	13
covered by a health insurance policy or a health care benefits	14
plan;	15

(B) Automatically enroll any student in the student health	16
insurance policy or health care benefits plan offered by the	17
institution.	18
