To enact section 5.2266 of the Revised Code to | 1 |
designate October 6 as "Triple Negative Breast | 2 |
Cancer Awareness Day." | 3 |
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That section 5.2266 of the Revised Code be enacted | 4 |
to read as follows: | 5 |
Sec. 5.2266. The sixth day of October is designated as | 6 |
"Triple Negative Breast Cancer Awareness Day" to raise public | 7 |
awareness and understanding of this subtype of breast cancer that | 8 |
is diagnosed as such because of its lack of the three receptors | 9 |
that fuel most breast cancers: estrogen receptors, progesterone | 10 |
receptors, and the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2, or | 11 |
HER2. As a result of its triple-negative status, triple negative | 12 |
breast cancer generally does not respond to the receptor-targeted | 13 |
treatments that are successful in treating other subtypes of | 14 |
breast cancer. | 15 |
