A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION | To urge the President of the United States to reopen | 1 |

the White House for public tours by the weekend of | 2 |
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO
(THE SENATE CONCURRING): WHEREAS, The White House serves not only as the residence for | 4 |
the first family, but also as a focus of American democracy; and | 5 |
WHEREAS, The White House is traditionally open to the public | 6 |
for tours; and | 7 |
WHEREAS, Staffing reductions as a result of sequestration | 8 |
have led to the cancellation of all tours of the White House | 9 |
indefinitely; and | 10 |
WHEREAS, Many school-age children and families traditionally | 11 |
visit Washington, D.C., during the Easter holiday; now therefore | 12 |
be it | 13 |
RESOLVED, That the President of the United States is urged to | 14 |
order that the White House be reopened for tours by March 30, | 15 |
2013; and be it further | 16 |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives | 17 |
transmit duly authenticated copies of this resolution to the | 18 |
President of the United States, the President Pro Tempore and | 19 |
Secretary of the United States Senate, the Speaker and Clerk of | 20 |
the United States House of Representatives, each member of the | 21 |
Ohio Congressional delegation, and the news media of Ohio. | 22 |
